I can’t even describe the level of joy these rolls bring me, like it’s ridiculous. ⁣ ⁣ Kinley is my first exclusively breastfed babe, and my rolliest! Is that a word? Don’t know, don’t care, I just made it one! ⁣ ⁣ I was three months postpartum when Kinley was conceived. Between working, maintaining a household, raising three kids, and morning sickness; my milk supply dropped BIG TIME. ⁣ ⁣ I had to stop nursing Liam. I tried everything to keep my supply up but I was exhausted and didn’t feel like I was meeting his needs. I felt like a failure as a Mom. ⁣ ⁣ Since bringing Kinley home, I’ve not only been able to exclusively breast feed her; but I’ve also been able to pump and give Liam breastmilk as well. ⁣ ⁣ It blows my mind how absolutely BADASS the female body is. Although these tata’s will NEVER be the same, I don’t even fricken care because LOOK AT THOSE ROLLS 😍⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #breastfeeding #breastfeedingmom #breastmilk #breastfedbaby #breastpumping #breastfedbabies #babyrolls #rollypolly #momblog #blogging #bloggingcommunity #momlife #momlifestyle #blog #canada #canadianblogger #lifestyle #momboss #mompreneur

Y’all stay asking where’s Dylan. Well here he is with that hand 🤦🏾‍♀️ and only wanting to wear a T-shirt and draws.😩🤦🏾‍♀️ . I swear, never once did I imagine I’d be a work from home mom but here we are. In fact, unlike most moms I actually enjoyed sending my kids to daycare. 😂🤷🏾‍♀️ I just didn’t enjoy the cost! Daycare is like a second mortgage here in Charlotte. 😩 . After almost 4yrs of working from home, I’m grateful for the opportunity to be here. We wake up when we want, cuddle without a schedule, and it’s been a blessing watching him grow each day. I didn’t get that with my first two; I worked 12 hr shifts and was away in training trying to climb that corporate ladder. . Anyway this is just one of the many reasons I’m glad I gave this coaching gig a try! I have what a lot moms wish for so I don’t take it for granted.

🤱🏽🤰🏽Reminder for Moms: Ask For Help. ASK! Ask your village, your community. Get a Nanny. Find a Mom group and set up a Mom/Baby share sitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was doing high rep, low weight push presses today at 6:30am and I was wondering, who else are Moms in this awesome class? I also remembered the many exhausted Moms who tell me they don't have time or energy to exercise anymore. How many times have I heard comments like, "Oh, after motherhood, she let herself go." Um, hello, She was busy at her 24/7 JOB that required her 200% attention. Smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Definitely, our bodies change post partum. Everything from holding pee becoming a daily struggle, to new "beauty marks" wrapping across our skin, to looser skin, low back pain from epidural.. upper back pain from breastfeeding, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But we are our biggest advocate. YOU JUST MADE A PERSON. We ARE STRENGTH, Power. ✨ Remember how youthful & #onPoint you used to feel? We can try to meet our needs better, by asking for help. We need a lot of help these days because families live separately. I ask for help ALL THE TIME. My amazing Aunt @snoopygroupie comes to my office to watch Kaiyo for an hour each week. My Mom @kathy.sum watches Kaiyo for 7 hrs once a week. His Dad watches him the rest of my office hours. I woke up at 530am today bc my "Me-time" is limited. Kaiyo is so much happier when I'm happier. I am more present with him when I have my needs for sleep, some exercise, eating healthily, maintaining friendships and growing professionally are present in my life. We can do this. What are your needs? What are you missing? Let's Adjust 💯 and not be victims.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm a Co-parenting, Working Mom. I've got the odds stacked against me, some say. A colleague and single mom told me, that it just brings out a strength and drive so deep within us, we #Rise beyond belief. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Parenthood isn't the end of our lives. It's just the beginning. 😉🥰 #postpartum #workingmoms #mombod #askforhelp #riseandgrind #feelgreat!

Most newborns need to feed every 2-3 hours, which can be up to 12 feeding a day. It’s helpful to look for early signs of hunger, which include moving the hands to the mouth, sucking on fists or fingers, and lip smacking. Fussing and crying are later hunger cues. It’s much easier to feed a baby when you notice the first signs of hunger than to have to sooth a frantic baby before feeding. When your baby stops sucking, closes their mouth, or turns away from the nipple or bottle, they may be full or just taking a break. Try burping your baby or waiting a minute, and then offer the breast or bottle again. #babyfeeding #breastfeeding #bottlefeeding

Posted @withrepost@lovensnuggles We talk about the importance of keeping babies close when supporting them through sleep and this co-regulation that @bornandfed has so beautifully pictured here is exactly what this is all about 💕 ・・・ Incredible artwork and beautiful words @aleeshaburkeibclc . We learn to self-regulate through co-regulating. Babies rely on us to interpret and assist them through their cues, states and emotions. As we are responsive to them, they learn about themselves and their relationships with others. They learn about how safe and loving the world is, that they have a caregiver that loves them no matter what. Then they begin to build the skills towards self-regulation and when and how to co-regulate with other people in their life. We’re not always going to get it right as parents, and that’s ok. Part of the process is that your baby and child learns what it is to be human. You will learn as you go what they’re communicating to you and how to respond to it. . "I feel like half of my holiday has been spent breastfeeding, but it’s been incredible. I’ve been able to chill out and watch the kids enjoying the beach. When I’m back at home I often feel so much Mother’s guilt because I don’t take enough time out to just sit and feed her when she asks for it. I have to remember this special time in my life won’t last for much longer. I always aim to feed my babies til they’re 3yrs old, so with Hildie we’re already way past the halfway mark. I have to enjoy it while it lasts. How long did you breastfeed your babies for? I’ve been breastfeeding for the past 9years straight, so when I eventually stop it’s going to feel so strange."⠀ ⠀ Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment with us @skye_knifey

Breastfeeding is hard. So all you mamas out there who have breastfed, no matter how long, you're a badass. I'm deciding to pull back on my workouts, I've decreased in milk supply by 75%. Yes, 75%! I am unable to produce enough to feed Jack. I am doing everything right, my body just isn't responding. Working out is the only thing I could be doing to harm my supply, and at the intensity I have been I believe it is causing my body to focus on energy and recovery for that and not on producing. This has been such a frustrating journey. I have donated 30-35 gallons of milk to moms in need. I prayed that if I donated instead of sold my supply would stay and I would be able to continue to feed Jack and possibly continue to help moms in need. I am struggling to keep up with him, its tiring, its emotional, its discouraging and frustrating. To feed your baby all you have and have them scream in hunger is the most heartbreaking thing. So bear with me as I go through this rough patch. It's all about the journey and I'm here to show you all sides of that, not just the good and the fun. • #postpartumjourney #breastfeeding #breastfedbabies #momlife #truth #emotions #longnights #milkmama #tryingmybest #priorities #fitnessjourney #motherssacrifice #mom #mother

For #parents, #nightwaking sucks. It’s true. No one ever had a baby and looked forward to feeding their tiny creature at 3am. And 4. And 5. And 5:30. And 6. Try to look at it this way: night waking protects your baby. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #Babies are hard wired to wake frequently at night. It’s a conveniently built-in safety feature that ensures parents tend to their needs. Frequent waking arouses the brain regularly which is protective against #SIDS. Sleeping longer before your baby’s brain is ready (sleep training) can be dangerous. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #Prolactin (milk-making hormone) levels are higher at night and in the early morning. Babies are very smart🧠. They know this. They request food when it’s most readily available. #Nightfeedings are important for your baby’s #braingrowth!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰:⁣⁣ ⏰Babies tend to sleep well from 6-10ish in the am. Try to nap during this time. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 📆Schedule appointments for late morning or afternoons. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🍜Have visitors come for lunch...with food. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🚿Instead of showering during morning nap time, bathe at night when your partner is home. It can help you relax at the end of the day.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 📱 Phones down! It’s amazing how fast you can fall asleep 😴 when you ignore your phone. ⁣ ⁣ 👶🏻Close your eyes and sniff your baby to calm your nerves and remind your 4am self this phase won’t last forever!⁣ ⁣⁣ 😍My favorite thing to help with #sleepdeprivation: ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ drink up! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ **#Caffeine is safe for #breastfedbabies but know that how they are affected by it is dose dependent. The average cup (8oz) is 100-150mg of caffeine and takes 1-2 hrs to reach peak levels in your milk. Babies absorb 6-25% of what mom ingests. Some babies may not be bothered by it at all. If #coffee is your indulgence, bottoms up! If you notice your baby is irritable, jittery or having a hard time sleeping (👈🏼 caused by so. many. things), drink less next time...it doesn’t mean you have to stop! ☕️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 📖Want a bit more info? Is your kiddo a 1-sider or 2-sider eater? . Breast milk storage capacity can play a big role in your little ones feeding habits and patterns (and pumping output and patterns). . If you have a smaller storage capacity, your little one may feed more frequently, eat from both sides, and you may need to pump more frequently in a 24 hour period. . If you have a larger storage capacity, your little one may go a little longer between feedings, may eat from 1 side during a feeding, and you may be able to pump less frequently (bigger volume out). . Both scenarios are normal (pending no underlying complications) and at the end of a 24 hour period, each baby is getting the normal estimated amount of breastmilk. Research tells us until about 6 months of age, should be 25-32 ounces of breastmilk per 24 hour period with an average of 30 ounces. . "Breastfeeding may be normal and natural; but it's not always simple and straightforward. It's like riding a bike. No one hops on the first day and rides ten miles. We get on the bike and fall off and try again. By the end of summer we do ride those 10 miles with ease. Breastfeeding is the same, it takes skill and it takes some practice." -Deena Blumenfeld If you’re looking for a little extra guidance, we have our new dates up for breastfeeding classes for parents, as well as for birth professionals who want to better assist their clients through this process! @she_artista via @birthbossco

What Are the Benefits of Breastfeeding for Your Baby? - Breast milk provides the ideal nutrition for infants. It has a nearly perfect mix of vitamins, protein, and fat -- everything your baby needs to grow. And it's all provided in a form more easily digested than infant formula. - Breast milk contains antibodies that help your baby fight off viruses and bacteria. - Breastfeeding lowers your baby's risk of having asthma or allergies. Plus, babies who are breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months, without any formula, have fewer ear infections, respiratory illnesses, and bouts of diarrhea. They also have fewer hospitalizations and trips to the doctor. - Breastfeeding has been linked to higher IQ scores in later childhood in some studies. What's more, the physical closeness, skin-to-skin touching, and eye contact all help your baby bond with you and feel secure. - Breastfed infants are more likely to gain the right amount of weight as they grow rather than become overweight children. Our little princess is 12 weeks old today! I always thought Colter was an easy baby, but Nevada is proving that that was simply not true! Haha she is such an easy going baby. She hardly ever fusses unless she needs something, she sleeps soooooo well! She has the most adorable smile and tells us the cutest stories through her little coos and excited gasps. She is so strong and loves to move her little body. She thinks her big brother is pretty entertaining, is a big time mommas girl, but she will snuggle just about anyone happily. We are still just sooooo in love with her and of course her big brother too. Justin and I comment all the time how we cant believe how lucky we are with our two amazing babies. Thought to share this insightful post with you all especially mums and mums to be. . Double tap ❤ and Tag a friend if you find this helpful. . . Breast milk supplies all the crucial nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals) in the correct proportions and in a fork that is easily digestible. . The colostrum produced in the first few days after birth helps impact high grade immunity. . Helps in the release of hormones including prolactin and oxytocin that help the mother lose weight and bond better with the infant. . Breast milk contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that help in the formation of the brain, retina and nervous system. It also contains adequate quantities of oligosaccharides that helps improve immunity to pathogens. . Roughly around 6 months (this very from one infant to another), caregiver should consider introducing certain solid foods as breast milk alone will no longer be sufficient to satisfy nutritional requirements. . You can introduce fruits (banana and Pawpaw, for instance) and vegetables (in mashed form) into baby's diet. You can also give foods such as cooked or mashed sweet potato, yam, pear, apple and carrots. . Allow the baby to hold and touch foods, do not force-feed them. Be patient and make it fun because mealtimes should not become traumatic for the infant. . From six months to one year, provide formula milk along with small meals of cooked and mashed food. You may also like to feed the infant with fortified cereals (these usually contain all the required nutrients). . Breastfeeding mums are advised to avoid alcohol, caffeine as well as large helpings of sword fish and marlin. . However, if the mother is unable to breastfeed for some reason or chooses not to (an option not recommended b experts), then formula milk should be administered to the child. . . . This mama of 4 has a super interesting story! From being widowed—to going back to school and working—PLUS breastfeeding and pumping throughout the entire experience! She pumped in the back of her classes and professor’s offices, how cool and inspiring is that?!😍 . . . Towards the end of her story she shares about pumping with a coworker and how nice it felt in comparison to pumping alone for so many years. . . . Emily also talks about having to pump in dirty bathrooms 😩If women are not given the option to stay home for bit longer, wouldn't you at least expect a decent pumping facility with some privacy? I have spoken with so many moms who end up pumping in cars, in broom closets and on toilet seats—Not exactly a pleasant way to use up your break time. . . . Lots of women in the US have to pump in isolation to assure their babies are being fed and to keep up with their supply—if you know or are a pumping mom, you are not alone in your struggles and isolation. I guess we are all lucky! Or maybe her amber bracelet from @shopmarambra is working its magic. 😁 I truly believe it does do what it's supposed to do! . I noticed she was chewing an awful lot yesterday evening after tea and she spent the whole of her bathtime gumming her rubber duckies, poor ducks! 😂 then last night as the three of us were lying in bed, I was boobing Olivia to sleep, she started screaming out of nowhere, then she stopped as quick as she started, and I just had a feeling. Daddy stuck his finger in her mouth and felt a sharp jab!! 🦷 I hope all of her teeth come through as easy as that! 🤞😂 . I won the toothbrush in a competition a few months ago from @twinklebrushes I got a pack of 3 in different colours. They flash for 2 minutes to remind you how long to brush your teeth. Olivia, of course, loves the flashing light, and I'm sure it will be a hit as she gets older, and encourage her to brush her teeth. Now, when do I make an appointment at the dentist? 🙈😂 . . . . . #firsttooth #teething #teethingbaby #7monthsold #bathtime #toothbrush #brushyourteeth #babygirl #beautifulbaby #fullheadofhair #mumsofinstagram #mothersofig #babiesofig #igbaby #babiesofinstagram #instamum #mumlife #mumdiary #mummybloggers #candidmoments #mummysgirl #motherhoodunplugged #instagrambaby #mumsofinstagramuk #breastfedbabies #acupofmotherhood #motheranddaughter

So don’t worry! You can see full information on the Breastfeeding Network - the most reliable website for information. But fear not! So little is transferred into the milk that most medications and antibiotics are safe while feeding. Don’t stress if your “mature milk,” takes a little while to come in. When you latch your baby to your breast, their saliva is like a “baby backwash” that goes back into your body and communicates with it. Your babies body is telling your body exactly what it needs ❤️ • • • • • #breastfeeding #breastfeedinginpublic #breastfeedingmom #breastfeed #breastfed #breastfedbabies #breastfedbaby #breastfeedingmama #normalizebreastfeeding #nursingtop #facts #facts💯 #factss #breastfeedingfashion #breastmilk #breastmilkstorage #breastpump #csection #csectionrecovery #pregnant #pregnancy #placentapills #placenta #birth #momlife #momtobe #momtobe2019#motherhoodunplugged #motherhoodquotes#mommemes

“Wow, I just found this photo. It’s amazing how it makes me feel like I’m looking at myself from another lifetime ago, not 17 weeks!⁣ It was taken by my Husband (unbeknown to me) when Otis was only a week old. At this stage I couldn’t sit down and feeding hurt! Ouch, that initial toe curling, teeth clenching 30 seconds of latching on. I had @lansinohfamily nipple cream positioned in every room, not to mention the used breast pads scattered everywhere (sorry a bit gross and I had my fair share of embarrassing moments of male family members picking them pondering what they were!). All such a distant memory now, everyone was right it really does get easier and now I feed Otis (still on demand) without even thinking about it. I've been to two Breastfeeding Cafes and both times witnessed new Mum’s sat in tears (with embarrassment) while feeding. Aww, it’s so hard, I really wanted to run over to them, give them a massive hug and say honestly it will get easier but actually in the moment it was better to pretend that I hadn’t seen them. I have no plan or goal how long I will breastfeed for, I will just continue to wing it, listen to Otis and my gut and see what happens.⁣ Good luck if you are just starting out on your breastfeeding journey and please don’t be embarrassed if you are the women sat in tears feeding, we have ALL been there!”⁣ ⁣ Repost: @carolinechilds⁣ ⁣ Join us from 10-11am Tuesday for our FREE Lactation Support Group, with Lisa Simpkins, IBCLC.
