Tonight I didn’t feel like working out. I went through the motions. But you know what... that’s okay because I’m human. I think social media gives us this distorted idea of reality. We see a highlight reel of other people’s lives. Selfies in the best lighting, best poses, often edited. It gives us this unrealistic standard we expect ourselves to keep up with! Point of this rant is: be easy on yourself. If you’re taking steps to better yourself in any way, be proud of that and remember to be patient along the journey. I have to take a minute to thank @ram.fitness for being not only the best coach I could ask for but also for becoming such a close friend of mine. In the past 6.5 months Logan not only helped me prep for my first npc competition but he turned it into something much deeper for me. I come from a long past of anorexia to the point of almost dying. Even though I've been good for many years now it never actually leaves you. Certain thoughts, habits, fears, old thinking patterns, and replacing one type of addiction with another some how will creep up every so often. Although I stand strong I still have weakness. I still had an unhealthy relationship with food because I ate so clean and healthy to the point of never allowing myself anything fun, not even on special occasions. I hadn't even had a french fry in 15 years or enjoyed the holidays with family. Logan taught me how to have a healthy relationship with food to the point of having one cheat meal a week and seeing not only the benefit it gave my body, but also my heart and mind. I no longer feel guilty for having them and I know its okay to enjoy myself because I am enough. He has helped me surpass areas in my past I never thought would leave me. I am human and I still have my days I struggle like with post show (which will be a different post) but with the help of God and Him using Logan I now can over come those obstacles and realize what is real and what are lies. I have never been so excited to put healthy weight back on from this prep and add strong healthy muscle that I've never had before so I can work towards that PRO card with Logan. If I can over come some of my hardest struggles internally and physically over the amount of 15 years, so can any of you! I cannot recommend him enough for anyone out there looking for a health coach. He cares so much and is always there for me 24/7 even with my repetitive questions or worries:) He is a man of God, truth, honesty and dignity, and genuineness, and cares 100% about you and your health. Today was all about slowing things down and focusing on that mind to muscle connection. 🧠💪 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You'll see in the lat pulldown how I'm really exaggerating the scap pull. The scap pull/retraction is very important movement to master. If you can't control your scapula, you will have a hard time targeting the correct muscles during a back workout. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another movement I really like to practice is the hanging scapular retraction -- it's a great way to warm up the muscles for back day! 💪

Killed it training back and arms yesterday with @nickademasfit ! Back workout shown. 💪 Did 6 sets of pull ups for 5 variations, 16 sets of pull downs for 4 variations, 6 sets of shrugs on the shrug machine, 5 sets on the low row hammer strength machine, 4 sets of standing bicep grip concentration rows, and 5 sets of 20-25 of concentration shrugs with the 45. 🤘 My whole back is killing me but in a good way. 😅

Awesome workout today with my buddy @nickademasfit ! 💪 Finally back to hitting PR's! 🙏 Funny thing is I'm getting over a super bad cold so this workout made me happy!! ☺ Did bench press, dumbbell presses, military presses, and a bunch of shoulder accessory work. Did 2 sets of 10 135, set of 5 185, set of 5 225, set of 2 255, set of 1 275, set of 1 295, set of 1 315, set of 1 335 (bodyweight PR), 5 second pause 315, set of 8 275 (bodyweight PR), and a set of 20 225 fail. Every set paused except for my last set! 🤘 Then did just 3 sets of dumbbell presses with my top set being 1x17 100s. Was fatigued so did push it with weight. Then did military presses and got 1x19 135 for my top set. 😁 Not maxing out for 2 weeks though. Giving my body a lil break from that. We'll see where I'll be by then!! ✊
